Docker is the only requirement — no Python, no Node, no .env file.
Start
git clone https://github.com/luetzey/who2be.git && cd who2be
docker compose up -d --wait
Then open http://localhost:5173 and create an account. Locally, sign-up is confirmed instantly without sending any email. When you first sign in, a workspace of your own is created, and that’s where you land.
The first start builds the images for the API and the web interface from source, so it takes a few minutes.
Prebuilt images instead of building
If you’d rather not build from source, pull prebuilt images:
docker compose -f docker-compose.yml -f docker-compose.images.yml up -d --wait
Useful commands
bash scripts/smoke.sh # full check: API, web interface, sign-in, MCP tools
docker compose logs -f api # what the backend is doing right now
docker compose down # stop; with -v the database is deleted too
What runs
The stack starts the database, sign-in, the REST API, the web interface and the MCP server. How to connect an agent is described under Connect an agent.
To run it outside a trusted network, you need the hardened setup with TLS, described in the deploy/hetzner (external site) directory.
