The MCP server runs in the same stack, at http://localhost:8765/mcp (Streamable HTTP), and also behind the web interface’s address at /mcp. It accepts a regular Who2Be token — you don’t need to set up OAuth for this.
With a ready-made client configuration
- In the web interface, open Settings → Tokens.
- Create a token (it starts with
w2b_). - The ready-made client configuration is right next to it, ready to copy.
By hand, using Claude Code as an example
claude mcp add --transport http who2be http://localhost:8765/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $W2B_TOKEN"
Replace $W2B_TOKEN with your token, or set it as an environment variable first.
Over stdio
You can still run the server over stdio from a source checkout. How that works, and how the remote connection with OAuth for Claude.ai works, is described in the guide in the repository (external site).
If the client reports 401
Without a token, that’s expected — the client needs the header Authorization: Bearer w2b_…. If you get an HTML page back instead of a 401, the client is talking to the web interface instead of the MCP endpoint.
